It's new!

I think just about everyone starts these things either saying "I can't believe I am actually creating a blog" or "Hey look! it's my blog!" So I say them both to start off with, I can't believe it! and Hey look at me! :)
I have been thinking, how often do people get so caught up in what they "have to get done" that they stop doing what they "need to get done" Last week in institute my teacher started the lesson just by saying "Sometimes all is well in Zion" and then he just paused for a little while. And it was a vey powerful statement. He went on to explain that sometimes all is well, but that we cannot expect for all to stay well, or expect for no more challenges to come into our lives. When all is well is the time we most need to be exploring new things, and learning new concepts. When do you feel safer or more comfortable than when all is well in your world? What better time to really seek out knowledge? I firmly believe that there are somethings that can only be learned through trials, some knowledge cannot be recieved or transfered through a book or a story. But there are alot of things you can learn just because you want to.

One of my best and closest friends is on a mission in the Czech Republic, and he comes home in just over 8 months! Which is so exciting! But he is so amazing. He wrote in his letter the other day "Often times people don't believetaht they can have their dreams. And as soon as you start to think that it's not possible you cast it out with the unbeliever. But we still need to have faith, believing in the things that the Lord has promised us" It's easy to assume that because something was promised to you, but it hasnt' shown up yet that it never will. But God doesnt' change his mind, and his words don't expire.
I am reading this book by Neal A Maxwell called "All these things shall be for thy experience" and it is so amazing! I love reading the words of modern day apostles. They are the same guys that would have been standing next to Christ, it's like Peter James and John for this century! Anyways, you should read that book!
Torie and I are going to pay the deposit on our apartment today. I am getting so excited! It's so soon that we are moving in together. But I have to admit, I never ever thought I would end up back in Provo and back at UVU and being the person I am. Two years ago when I graduated high school I such different expectations. But my life is so amazing! My best friends are wonderful! One of them is on a mission, one is leaving soon for a mission, one is going to be my roomate (and we are going to have some awesome parties) and the other one, well just suffice it to say, amazing doesn't even come close to describing them. My family is crazy beyond all belief, my dad is so funny, and wonderful, and my mom and I are so alike that she drives me crazy all the time. I have the greatest siblings ever, and I work at my dream job!

"Sometimes all we can ask for is to make it through, but the times that we ask just to make it through, and we come out on the other side a king or a queen of our world, that is when we put the Savior in our lives"
